So you want to be Vegan? Or is it Vegetarian? Or wait, Paleo? Oh yes, Pescatarian!

You know you want to do something with your diet, but you're not sure what it is? You like your veggies but you also like fish, you don't eat meat, you do you like eggs… I've spent the last six years trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grow up and I've decided I'm going to call myself a flexitarian! Meaning I really like a little bit of everything but want to overall eat healthy {and I really like wine}.  So that's my deal, here are the definitions of all of the other diet choices so you can decide for yourself…

Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish, or poultry. I was in Las Vegas recently and had THE BEST vegetarian bolognese {yes, sounds like an oxymoron} Want The recipe

Vegans, in addition to being vegetarian, do not use other animal products and by-products such as eggs, dairy products, honey, leather, fur, silk, wool, cosmetics, and soaps derived from animal products. It's pretty easy to make a recipe vegan. Here are a list of substitutes

Pescatarian Is a diet that includes fish but not steak, chicken, pork or any other kind of meat. If You're a seafood lover like me, this one's for you! Check out my simple recipe for Shrimp Scampi with Zucchini Noodles on my Food & Wine page. {p.s. If you don't have a spiralizer, get one now. Trust me, you want it!}

Paleo a diet based on the types of foods presumed to have been eaten by early humans, consisting chiefly of meat, fish, vegetables, and fruit, and excluding dairy or grain products and processed food. This is not an easy diet to follow. I made a Paleo Shopping list so I didn't have to look up every food while I was shopping!

Bon Appetite!
